60L FermZilla All Rounder Easy-Grip Pressure Fermenter Starter Kit is a complete large-capacity pressure fermentation package designed for brewers making double batches or larger volumes. It combines the simplicity of an All Rounder vessel with the equipment needed for pressure fermentation, floating dip-tube transfers and controlled spunding.
The smooth, rounded PET vessel is easier to clean than a more complex conical fermenter because it has fewer internal parts and no collection container at the base. This makes it a practical choice for busy brewers who want the benefits of pressure fermentation without a lengthy cleaning routine.
The kit also supports pressure-assisted transfer into compatible kegs, helping reduce oxygen exposure after fermentation.
Ideal for Double-Batch Brewing
The 60-litre capacity suits brewers making:
- Double fresh wort kit batches
- Large extract brews
- High-volume all grain recipes
- Beer
- Cider
- Ginger beer
- Hard seltzer
- Mead
- Other compatible fermented beverages
Always allow adequate headspace for active fermentation. The full vessel capacity should not automatically be treated as the recommended batch size.
Pressure Fermentation Benefits
Pressure fermentation can provide several practical benefits when used correctly.
These may include:
- Reduced oxygen exposure during transfer
- Controlled natural carbonation
- Cleaner closed-transfer processes
- Less reliance on open-air siphoning
- Convenient pressure-assisted sampling
- More compact fermentation setups
- The ability to serve directly from the vessel in suitable applications
Pressure can also influence yeast behaviour and flavour development. Always follow yeast-specific recommendations and avoid using more pressure than required.
Easy-Grip Threaded Lid Ring
The improved Easy-Grip threaded lid ring makes the vessel easier to tighten and undo.
The larger grip profile helps when:
- Installing the lid
- Opening the vessel after fermentation
- Cleaning the fermenter
- Checking lid alignment
- Replacing seals
- Preparing the unit for storage
Keep the lid threads, sealing surfaces and O-rings clean. Residue or damage around these areas may cause leaks.
Reinforced Hex Base
The included reinforced hex base supports the rounded vessel and provides a more stable footprint.
This removes the need for improvised straps or tie-down arrangements during normal stationary use.
The base includes pre-attached sticky dots and is designed to hold the fermenter securely while allowing access to the lower section of the vessel.
Place the fermenter on a stable, level surface before filling.
Floating Dip Tube and Mesh Filter
The 60L FermZilla All Rounder Easy-Grip Pressure Fermenter Starter Kit includes a yellow weighted stainless steel float, silicone dip tube and mesh filter.
The floating dip tube draws liquid from near the top of the beverage rather than from the bottom, where yeast and sediment settle.
This can help provide:
- Clearer samples
- Reduced sediment transfer
- Cleaner keg filling
- Better recovery of finished beverage
- Less yeast pickup near the end of transfer
The dip tube must be cut to the appropriate length for the vessel and intended batch volume.
Avoid cutting it too short. Test the tube position before use.
Gas and Liquid Carbonation Caps
The kit includes:
- Red carbonation cap for gas in
- Yellow carbonation cap for liquid out
The colour coding helps distinguish the two connections during setup.
The red gas cap connects to the pressure source or spunding equipment, while the yellow liquid cap connects to the floating dip tube and beverage-transfer line.
Always confirm that each fitting is installed in the correct position.
Integrated BlowTie Spunding Valve
The included BlowTie kit features an integrated pressure gauge with a 0–15psi range.
A spunding valve controls how much pressure remains inside the fermenter by releasing excess gas once the selected pressure is reached.
It can be used for:
- Controlled pressure fermentation
- Natural carbonation
- Monitoring vessel pressure
- Managing gas release
- Closed transfer preparation
Set the valve gradually and monitor the gauge regularly.
Never block or disable pressure-release equipment.
Closed Pressure Transfers
Pressure-assisted transfer can move finished beer or another beverage from the fermenter into a compatible keg with less exposure to air.
A typical closed transfer may involve:
- Cleaning and sanitising the receiving keg.
- Purging the keg with carbon dioxide.
- Connecting the fermenter liquid outlet to the keg liquid post.
- Connecting a controlled gas source to the fermenter.
- Venting the receiving keg through a spunding valve or pressure-release method.
- Transferring slowly at low pressure.
- Monitoring all connections throughout the process.
A suitable transfer line, compatible ball lock disconnects and additional tubing may be required.
A pre-assembled jumper transfer line can simplify this setup.
CO₂ Recommended
Although fermentation can generate natural pressure, a suitable carbon dioxide supply is still recommended for:
- Closed transfers
- Purging receiving kegs
- Maintaining transfer pressure
- Packaging into kegs
- Dispensing directly from the vessel
- Checking system seals
A carbon dioxide cylinder, regulator, disconnects and transfer tubing are not included unless stated separately.

General Assembly
Before first use:
- Read the complete manufacturer instructions.
- Inspect the PET vessel for damage or stress marks.
- Clean the vessel using a suitable non-abrasive brewery cleaner.
- Install the hex base.
- Fit the lid and Easy-Grip ring.
- Install the red gas and yellow liquid carbonation caps.
- Cut the silicone dip tube to the required length.
- Connect the float and mesh filter.
- Install the BlowTie spunding valve.
- Complete a water pressure test.
- Sanitise all beverage-contact parts.
- Begin fermentation only after confirming there are no leaks.
Do not use abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals that may damage PET.
Mandatory Water Pressure Test
Before using the fermenter under pressure, perform a water pressure test.
To test:
- Fill the fermenter with water.
- Fit and tighten all lids and caps.
- Apply at least 15psi of pressure.
- Check all threads, caps and seals for leaks.
- Inspect the vessel for unusual deformation or stress whitening.
- Release the pressure safely after testing.
Do not pressure-test the vessel with air alone while empty.
Water reduces the stored energy inside the vessel and makes the test safer.
PET Care and Sunlight Warning
Keep all PET fermenters away from direct sunlight.
Ultraviolet exposure can degrade PET and may reduce the vessel’s strength over time.
Store the fermenter:
- Indoors
- Away from windows
- Away from direct sunlight
- Away from excessive heat
- Empty, clean and dry
- Protected from sharp objects
Do not expose the vessel to boiling liquids or temperatures above the manufacturer’s stated limits.
Shipping Dents and Minor Deformation
Large blow-moulded PET fermenters may occasionally arrive with small dents, dimples or indentations caused during transport.
Minor deformation is generally cosmetic and may push out once the vessel is placed under low positive pressure.
Inspect the vessel carefully before use.
Do not use it if you notice:
- White stress marks
- Cracks
- Deep creases
- Damaged threads
- Split plastic
- Deformation that does not settle
- Damage around pressure fittings
Contact the supplier if the vessel shows signs of structural damage.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the fermenter immediately after use.
Recommended care includes:
- Rinsing out loose yeast and sediment
- Using a suitable PET-safe brewing cleaner
- Cleaning the lid and threads
- Removing and cleaning carbonation caps
- Flushing the dip tube
- Cleaning the float and mesh filter
- Inspecting all O-rings
- Drying the vessel completely before storage
Avoid abrasive pads and hard brushes. Scratches can trap residue and weaken the PET surface.
Important Safety Notes
- Read the manufacturer instructions before use.
- Complete a water pressure test before every pressure setup.
- Do not exceed the stated pressure limits.
- Use the supplied BlowTie or another suitable pressure-control device.
- Keep the vessel out of direct sunlight.
