Intertap SS Tap & Handle is a polished 304 stainless steel draught faucet designed to deliver smooth beverage flow, reliable sealing and greater versatility than many traditional beer taps. Its forward-sealing design closes the beverage pathway near the front of the faucet, helping reduce the amount of exposed internal space where beer residue can dry and collect.

The smooth internal bore supports laminar flow through the faucet, while the removable threaded spout allows the tap to be adapted for different serving styles without replacing the complete tap body.

A stainless steel handle is included, making this a practical upgrade for compatible kegerators, beer fonts, keezers and custom home bar systems.

Polished 304 Stainless Steel

The tap body is made from polished 304 stainless steel.

This material provides:

  • Good corrosion resistance
  • Durable beverage-contact surfaces
  • Easy cleaning
  • Low flavour absorption
  • Professional appearance
  • Suitability for beer, cider and other compatible drinks

Stainless steel is a strong option for brewers who want dependable equipment that can withstand regular cleaning and repeated use.

Forward-Sealing Design

The Intertap SS Tap & Handle closes the beverage flow at the front of the faucet.

Traditional rear-sealing faucets close farther back inside the tap body. After use, liquid may drain from the front section through a vent hole, leaving a damp internal cavity exposed to air.

This environment can encourage:

  • Sticky beer residue
  • Wild yeast growth
  • Bacterial contamination
  • Tap sticking
  • Off flavours
  • Difficult cleaning

A forward-sealing faucet reduces this exposed internal area and helps maintain cleaner operation between pours.

Sliding Shuttle Seal

Intertap uses a sliding shuttle that holds the internal O-ring in position as the faucet opens and closes.

This differs from some floating O-ring designs where the seal must move independently inside the tap body.

The guided shuttle design can provide:

  • Reliable sealing
  • Smooth faucet movement
  • Reduced seal misalignment
  • Consistent operation
  • Easier maintenance
  • Long-term serviceability

Regular cleaning and inspection are still essential for dependable performance.

Smooth Laminar Flow

The smooth internal bore is designed to support a controlled, laminar beverage flow.

Reduced turbulence may help provide:

  • Smoother pouring
  • Better foam control
  • Improved glass presentation
  • More consistent dispensing
  • Less agitation inside the faucet

The final pour also depends on the complete draught system, including beverage temperature, carbonation, serving pressure, line diameter and line length.

Removable Threaded Spout

One of the main advantages of the Intertap system is its interchangeable threaded spout.

The standard outlet can be removed and replaced with compatible options such as:

  • Stout spout
  • English sparkler spout
  • Growler filler
  • Ball lock post spout
  • Other compatible Intertap accessories

This allows one tap body to perform several different dispensing roles.

Instead of replacing the entire faucet when changing beverage styles or filling methods, simply install the appropriate spout.

Stout Spout Compatibility

A compatible stout spout can be used where a tighter, creamier pour is required.

This may suit:

  • Stout
  • Porter
  • Nitro-style beverages
  • Creamy dark ales

The correct gas blend, pressure and complete draught setup are still required for authentic stout-style dispensing.

The stout spout is sold separately.

English Sparkler Compatibility

An optional English sparkler spout can add agitation at the outlet, helping produce a dense head on suitable traditional ale styles.

It may be useful for:

  • English bitters
  • Mild ale
  • Brown ale
  • Traditional hand-pull-inspired presentation

The sparkler accessory is sold separately.

Growler Filler Compatibility

A compatible growler filler spout can help transfer beer from the tap into suitable bottles or growlers.

This provides a convenient way to package beer for:

  • Short-term transport
  • Sharing with friends
  • Parties
  • Club events
  • Tastings

Always use clean and sanitised containers.

The growler filler attachment is sold separately.

Ball Lock Post Spout Compatibility

A compatible ball lock post spout can provide an alternative connection point for selected transfer or dispensing applications.

This may be useful in custom kegging systems where a ball lock liquid connection is preferred.

Confirm accessory and pressure compatibility before use.

Manual or Automatic Closing

The faucet can be operated as a standard manual-closing tap.

It can also accept a compatible auto-close spring, allowing the handle to return to the closed position after release.

Auto-closing may be useful in:

  • Busy home bars
  • Entertainment spaces
  • Clubs
  • Shared kegerators
  • Event setups

The spring is not included and must be purchased separately.

Included Stainless Steel Handle

This product includes a stainless steel tap handle.

The handle provides:

  • A clean matching finish
  • Comfortable operation
  • Simple installation
  • Professional appearance
  • Compatibility with many font styles

Do not overtighten the handle onto the faucet thread.

Suitable Installations

The faucet can be installed on compatible:

  • Kegerators
  • T-bar fonts
  • Straight beer towers
  • Keezer collars
  • Wall-mounted shanks
  • Home bars
  • Custom draught systems

A compatible shank, collar and mounting setup are required.

Confirm thread compatibility before installation.

Suitable Beverages

The tap may be used for compatible kegged beverages such as:

  • Lager
  • Pale Ale
  • IPA
  • Porter
  • Stout
  • Cider
  • Ginger beer
  • Hard seltzer
  • Sparkling water
  • Soft drinks
  • Kombucha

Sweet and acidic beverages require more frequent cleaning.

General Installation

A typical installation process includes:

  1. Clean and sanitise the faucet.
  2. Confirm the tap and shank threads are compatible.
  3. Fit the faucet to the shank.
  4. Tighten the collar using a suitable tap tool.
  5. Screw the stainless steel handle into place.
  6. Connect the beverage line.
  7. Pressurise the system.
  8. Check for leaks.
  9. Test the pour with a chilled keg.
  10. Adjust line balance or pressure if needed.

Do not overtighten the faucet or handle.

Draught System Balancing

A premium faucet performs best when the complete system is correctly balanced.

Consider:

  • Beverage temperature
  • Carbonation level
  • Serving pressure
  • Beverage line length
  • Internal line diameter
  • Tap height
  • Font temperature
  • Beverage type

If the pour is too fast or foamy, check the line resistance and temperature before reducing pressure.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Clean the faucet before first use and regularly thereafter.

Recommended cleaning times include:

  • After each keg
  • Between beverage changes
  • After serving sweet drinks
  • Before extended storage
  • Whenever the tap becomes sticky
  • If flavour or aroma changes

A general cleaning process includes:

  1. Depressurise the beverage system.
  2. Remove the faucet.
  3. Disassemble it carefully.
  4. Soak compatible parts in correctly diluted beer line cleaner.
  5. Clean the internal surfaces with a soft brush.
  6. Rinse thoroughly.
  7. Inspect the shuttle and O-ring.
  8. Reassemble and sanitise.
  9. Reinstall and leak-test.

Follow the manufacturer’s servicing instructions.

Spout Changes

Before changing the outlet spout:

  • Depressurise the system
  • Clean the faucet exterior
  • Remove the current spout carefully
  • Inspect the thread and seal
  • Fit the selected accessory
  • Tighten it securely by hand
  • Check for leaks before use

Avoid cross-threading.

Important Notes

  • Stainless steel tap handle is included.
  • A compatible tap shank is required and may be sold separately.
  • Optional spouts are sold separately.
  • Auto-close spring is sold separately.
  • Confirm accessory and thread compatibility.
  • Clean and sanitise before first use.
  • Draught performance depends on full system balance.
  • Inspect the O-ring and shuttle during routine servicing.
  • Replace damaged or worn parts with compatible components.

Intertap SS Tap & Handle is a versatile stainless steel faucet for brewers who want reliable forward-sealing performance and the flexibility of interchangeable spouts. Its smooth bore, guided shuttle and polished finish make it a strong upgrade for kegerators, beer fonts and home draught systems.
