Seal Kit for D-Type & S-Type Keg Coupler is a replacement maintenance kit for compatible D-Type and S-Type commercial keg couplers. Over time, the internal seals and non-return components inside a coupler can wear, harden, flatten or become damaged. Replacing these parts can help restore reliable gas and beverage sealing.

This kit includes the main service components required for both coupler styles, including separate stem seals for D-Type and S-Type models.

It is a practical spare part for home bars, kegerators, mobile draught systems and commercial-style keg setups using compatible couplers.

Suitable Coupler Types

The kit is intended for compatible:

  • D-Type keg couplers
  • S-Type keg couplers
  • Commercial keg dispensing systems
  • Home kegerators using D-Type or S-Type couplers
  • Portable draught systems
  • Event and mobile bar equipment

D-Type and S-Type couplers may look similar, but their probes and stem arrangements differ. Use the correct included stem seal for your coupler type.

Complete Coupler Service Kit

The Seal Kit for D-Type & S-Type Keg Coupler includes:

  • Three O-rings
  • One washer seal
  • One D-Type stem seal
  • One S-Type stem seal
  • One gas non-return duckbill valve
  • One liquid non-return ball and net

These parts help seal the coupler body, gas pathway and beverage pathway.

The included components should be compared with the existing coupler parts during disassembly to confirm their correct positions.

D-Type and S-Type Stem Seals

The kit includes two different stem seals:

  • One for D-Type couplers
  • One for S-Type couplers

Only the seal that matches the coupler being serviced should be installed.

Keep the unused stem seal as a spare or store it with clearly labelled keg-coupler parts.

Do not force the wrong seal into the coupler.

Gas Non-Return Duckbill Valve

The gas-side duckbill valve helps reduce reverse flow through the gas inlet.

This can help prevent:

  • Beverage entering the gas line
  • Liquid reaching the regulator
  • Gas moving in the wrong direction
  • Contamination of gas-side components

The duckbill valve should be inspected for splits, hardening, distortion or residue.

A damaged valve may no longer seal correctly.

Liquid Non-Return Ball and Net

The liquid-side non-return assembly includes a ball and retaining net.

This component helps control reverse liquid flow through the beverage outlet.

During servicing:

  • Note the original orientation
  • Keep the ball and net together
  • Clean the internal cavity
  • Check that the ball moves freely
  • Reinstall the assembly correctly

Incorrect installation may restrict beverage flow or reduce the non-return function.

Signs Your Coupler Needs Servicing

Consider replacing the seals if you notice:

  • Gas leaking around the coupler
  • Beer leaking from the probe or body
  • Liquid entering the gas line
  • Poor keg engagement
  • Difficulty operating the handle
  • Reduced beverage flow
  • Worn or flattened O-rings
  • Hardened stem seals
  • Persistent leaks after cleaning

Also inspect the coupler body, probe, handle and fittings for damage.

General Service Procedure

A typical coupler service may include:

  1. Turn off the gas cylinder.
  2. Release pressure from the draught system.
  3. Disconnect the coupler from the keg.
  4. Remove the gas and beverage lines where required.
  5. Disassemble the coupler carefully.
  6. Keep parts in their removal order.
  7. Remove the old seals and non-return components.
  8. Clean the coupler body and probe.
  9. Compare the old parts with the replacements.
  10. Install the correct D-Type or S-Type stem seal.
  11. Refit the O-rings and washer seal.
  12. Install the duckbill valve.
  13. Refit the liquid ball and net.
  14. Reassemble the coupler.
  15. Pressure-test before returning it to service.

Refer to the coupler manufacturer’s servicing instructions where available.

Release Pressure Before Disassembly

Never open or dismantle a pressurised keg coupler.

Before servicing:

  • Close the gas cylinder
  • Shut off the regulator outlet
  • Release trapped gas pressure
  • Disconnect the coupler from the keg
  • Confirm the system is fully depressurised

Pressurised gas or liquid can cause injury and sudden component movement.

Cleaning Before Reassembly

Clean the coupler thoroughly before installing new seals.

Use a suitable brewery cleaner to remove:

  • Dried beer
  • Sugar residue
  • Yeast
  • Biofilm
  • Lubricant buildup
  • Sediment

Rinse according to the cleaner directions and sanitise beverage-contact components before reassembly.

Do not use sharp tools that may scratch sealing surfaces.

Food-Grade Lubricant

A very light coating of compatible food-grade keg lubricant may help protect selected O-rings during installation.

Lubricant may help:

  • Prevent pinching
  • Reduce tearing
  • Improve assembly
  • Protect seals during movement

Do not apply lubricant to components unless it is suitable for beverage equipment.

Avoid excessive amounts because they can attract residue.

Leak Testing After Servicing

After reassembly:

  1. Reconnect the gas and beverage lines.
  2. Attach the coupler to a compatible keg or test setup.
  3. Apply low regulated pressure.
  4. Check the gas inlet and body for leaks.
  5. Inspect the beverage outlet.
  6. Check around the probe and handle mechanism.
  7. Use suitable leak-detection solution on gas-side connections.
  8. Correct any leak before normal use.

Never use a flame to locate a gas leak.

Not Suitable for the All-SS A-Type Coupler

This kit does not suit the all-stainless-steel A-Type slide-on coupler.

The following product requires a different seal kit:

  • A-Type Keg Coupler All-SS with 8mm Duotight Push-Fit

Use the dedicated Seal Kit for All SS A-Type Keg Coupler for that model.

Keg-coupler seals are not universal, even when components appear similar.

Routine Coupler Maintenance

Inspect the coupler whenever you:

  • Change a commercial keg
  • Clean the beverage lines
  • Notice a gas leak
  • See beer in the gas line
  • Experience reduced flow
  • Prepare the system for storage
  • Return equipment to service after a long break

Regular inspection can help identify worn parts before they cause a full keg or gas-cylinder loss.

Storage of Spare Seals

Store unused components:

  • In a clean sealed bag
  • Away from direct sunlight
  • Away from excessive heat
  • Away from cleaning chemicals
  • Clearly labelled by coupler type
  • Protected from dust and damage

Do not store loose seals where they may become contaminated or confused with other keg parts.

Important Notes

  • Suitable for compatible D-Type and S-Type keg couplers.
  • Includes both D-Type and S-Type stem seals.
  • Install only the stem seal that matches your coupler.
  • Includes three O-rings and one washer seal.
  • Includes one gas non-return duckbill valve.
  • Includes one liquid non-return ball and net.
  • Coupler is not included.
  • Release all pressure before servicing.
